Full EGYM Orientation
During this full in depth orientation, one of our Certified Personal Trainers will guide you through EGYM’s key features, perform a strength and flexibility assessment, answer all questions, and onboard you on all 11 machines! Smart technology will use this data to automatically adjust the machines to your individual needs, helping you train more efficiently and safely. The orientation will last about 45 minutes to an hour.

NASM Certified Personal Trainer Prep Course
This course prepares students for a national personal training certification by covering key topics such as fitness and health fundamentals, exercise science, human anatomy, nutrition, behavioral coaching, assessments, and training techniques, including the OPT model and special populations. Whether you’re interested in pursuing employment as a Personal Trainer with UREC or looking to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in the fitness field, this course offers a strong foundation to grow your skills and confidence.
NASM Certified Personal Trainer Prep Course includes:
→ NASM CPT Certification Exam (at reduced cost — $560 instead of $999)
→ Access to NASM's online self-study modules & training information
→ 12+ hours of in-person practical skills training, providing the opportunity to apply their skills in practical settings
→ Opportunity to apply for a Personal Training position with University Recreation (contingent on successful program completion & a NASM CPT Exam passing grade)
Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:15 PM - 1:30 PM

Group Fitness Instructor Training Course
This course prepares students for the instruction of group fitness classes. All students are required to all sessions, actively participate, and attend Group Fitness classes. Participants will learn the foundations of how to teach group fitness classes from musicality to exercise science to being a leader in front of the room. You will also get a foundation of how to teach each major group fitness format.
Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 AM - 8:15 AM
