University Recreation is excited to announce that beginning Saturday, September 5th, we will begin offering a variety of outdoor (and limited indoor) fitness and recreation opportunities.
Reservations can be made for 1-hour time blocks for Lanes 1 & 2 and participants are able to reserve more than one time block per day. Lanes 3 & 4 are offered on a first come, first served basis. Lanes are limited to 1 participant at a time.
VortexThe vortex (located in the Indoor Pool) is a unique offering where patrons can swim, run or walk against the current. The vortex area is offered on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not required.
Family Swim AreaThe Family Area (located in the Indoor Pool) is the area near the steps located by the indoor locker rooms. This area is designated for families to utilize with their kids during family swim hours. Reservations are not required, the family area is offered on a first come, first served basis.
POLICIES/PROCEDURES- Your active 49er ID card is required for entry into any facility or program.
- Patrons must shower in locker rooms before entering the pool.
- Lap Lanes 1 & 2 Usage - Patrons may arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to the reserved time slot and will be granted access to the facility at the start of reserved time. Anyone arriving after the start of the reserved time slot will be granted access, but no additional time will be added to the reservation.
THE OUTDOOR POOL DECK IS ALREADY OPEN FOR USE
Participation is on a first come, first served basis. No reservation is necessary.
POLICIES/PROCEDURES- Your active 49er ID card is required for entry into any facility or program. To gain entry to the outdoor pool deck, patrons must enter through the main UREC entrance and present a valid 49er ID Card or UREC Membership Card.
- A mask must be worn at all times when navigating around the pool deck area.
- For the safety of our patrons, all outdoor facilities will close and outdoor programs will be cancelled if thunder, lightning, or inclement weather is detected and will remain closed until an “all clear” message is received.
IMPORTANT NOTE
- If you are experiencing COVID related symptoms, have been exposed to someone experiencing symptoms/tested positive, or have been asked to quarantine - do not enter the facility or participate in in-person programs - stay home! We look forward to welcoming you back once you have been cleared.
- A minimum of 6ft of social distance is required for everyone at all times.
- A face covering is required when not actively engaging in physical activity, in the pool, or when social distance cannot be maintained.
- Time has been added between each reservation period (outdoor fitness, outdoor pool, etc.) in order to accommodate additional cleaning practices.
