Personal Training


The Personal Training Program will accept form responses starting January 3rd-16th, 2023. Clients will begin to work with their trainer on or before January 23rd. 

A valid UREC membership is required to use the Personal Training service.

About PT

Our Certified Personal Trainers are here to assist you in reaching your fitness goals! UREC's Personal Trainers will create an exercise plan that is unique to your needs and abilities. Our goal is to help motivate, lead, and inspire you to be able to have the confidence and self-efficacy to eventually exercise independently.  We offer a variety of packages to accommodate your needs, as well as your budget!

Note: All new clients must start with our Intro Package, which includes an initial consultation, InBody Composition Scan, Fitness Assessment, and two sessions.


You must have one of the following to hire a Personal Trainer:

  1. Be a current UNC Charlotte student (enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits per semester)
  2. Faculty/Staff with a Membership
  3. A guest pass for each visit (Must be sponsored by a member unless Faculty/Staff and Alumni). 

Types of Training

  • In-Person Training - this option allows clients to meet in person to complete their sessions at UREC with our Personal Trainers.
  • Small Group Personal Training- In a small group setting of 6-8 people, follow a group designed program and prepare to get stronger over 6 weeks. Small Group Personal Training is offered once each semester.
  • Workouts2Go! - Take out the guesswork with W2G! This option is designed for clients who are already comfortable exercising on their own, but don't know how to put together a specific plan of action. After a consultation, a PT will design a 4-week plan with up to 4 workouts per week.
    • There are two levels for Workouts to Go:
      • Written Plan - 
        1. Fill out our Personal Training Packet identifying that you are interested in W2Go!
        2. Purchase the Introduction Plan first, to undergo a fitness assessment, consultation, and talk goals with your Personal Trainer.
        3. Over the two introductory sessions, your trainer will walk you through your program so you understand the movements, intensity, and form. 
        4. Purchase your selected Workouts2Go! 
        5. Receive your personalized program.
      • Written Plan Plus
        1. All of the above, plus weekly check-ins with a Personal Trainer

Steps To Sign Up

Step 1: Complete the Personal Training form.

Step 2: Complete the Personal Training Registration Packet through DSE, sent to you once you complete the interest form.

Step 3: Client will be assigned to a Personal Trainer.

Step 4: Client will be emailed instructions on how to pay for session via DSE, or in-person at UREC's Welcome Desk.

Step 5: Client and Trainer will set up time to meet for initial assessment.
