To be eligible, you must . . .
- be a student, faculty/ staff, or alumni
- be 18 years or older
- have an active UREC membership
What
American Red Cross certified lifeguards staff our aquatic facilities and instruct out group, semi-private, and private swim lessons.
Semi-private lessons
These lessons offered are 1 instructor for 2 participants. Lessons last 1 hour and can be purchased individually or in a package. Semi-Private lessons are scheduled based upon participant/instructor availability.
*Semi-Private lessons are available for two participants that sign up together. It is recommended that you and your partner are at a similar swim skill level.
Level Descriptions:
- Level 1 - orient participant to aquatic environment and help gain basic skills; develop positive attitude and safe procedure/practices around water
- Level 2 - basic aquatic skills and water safety
- Level 3 - build on skills; achieve basic water competency skills in pool environment
- Level 4 - improve participants’ proficiency in swimming strokes
Pricing for semi-private lessons depends on the number of sessions purchased:
- 4 Lessons - $40 (per person)
- 8 Lessons - $92.50 (per person)
- 12 Lessons - $137.50 (per person)

private lessons
During these lessons, the participant gets 1 on 1 attention to accomplish their swimming goals. Lessons last 1 hour and can be purchased individually or in a package. Private lessons are scheduled based upon participant/instructor availability.

The time of the lesson will be based upon the participant’s skill level. Each class has a limit of 6 participants. Official times and dates will be posted soon!

Steps to Sign Up:
Step 1: Complete payment of semi-private or private lessons via TouchNet or in-person.
Step 2: Once payment is complete, fill out the Swim Lesson Form.
Step 3: Person will be assigned a swim instructor and will be contacted with instructions.
